Mahkey is a grunge rock band from Croatia — that built a sound that fuses Balkan sevdah with post-grunge. Palo Santo is their second album: eleven tracks of raw, confessional songwriting released on Croatia Records.
We shot “Šutim jer te lažem” first as a single one-take video, and that unbroken energy became the visual blueprint for the entire album. No cuts, no safety net — just performance. Once we saw what that did, the direction for the rest was obvious. Six more videos followed, all filmed across two 12-hour days at Alfa Film studio. Every setup had to be choreographed in advance — lighting, blocking, performance, all locked before we rolled. A visual choice made on the first track becomes a commitment you carry through the last. The challenge was building a system tight enough to scale but loose enough for each video to breathe on its own. One album, seven videos, one visual world.
